Board Members, Artists, Members need to write their own notices for the web (just as they do for the NL). Normally, a webmaster is strictly a technician, without subject knowledge.
Everyone with a piece of the information / pie should keep all nodes of the FCCA's public affair outlets informed of ongoing or upcoming events: newsletter, webmaster, facebook/twitter, and PR Chair & staff.
Webmaster's Resignation
I have enjoyed being the FCCA webmaster during the last 3-years (and for two years in 2005-06); Being a right-brain/left-brain person, I do truly enjoy designing/building/managing a full-size business website, with (2) artshows changing EVERY month (but one) – as well as, corresponding/helping artists in USA & around the World.
However, I am resigning as the FCCA webmaster effective December 31, 2010.
- Please note: By that time, FCCA must acquire a credit card and take over the monthly fees for the website before January 2, 2011: My final payment for those fees will occur on December 2, 2010, and web server companies automatically charge one's credit card for payment.
- The Board has indicated that others are interested in this position. This is a vital task that needs to be taken on by an interested designer who has time and skill, with perhaps the assistance of a web team.
Suggestions
I hope FCCA Board finds someone for the webmaster position:
- Who is willing to put in 30-80-120 hours/month
,
- depending on how helpful, organized, & efficient the Board, artists, &/or Members are at getting complete news & images prepared & sent to the WebTeam in a timely manner to be placed on the website.
- Or if the webmaster must spend time researching & writing news (which is like pulling teeth for most).
- With the ability & efficiency, to:
- Design
- Build
- Edit
- Maintain/manage
- A full-size business website with (2) gallery shows changing EVERY month (but one – so far).
- And with willingness to work with Frederick Gallery Curator & WebTeam.
- For the better good of the entire organization, Members, artists, Art Community, & Public.
As for my briefing, Webmaster@FCCAva.org (until December 31, 2010).
