The show features photographs focused on Sandy’s travels to
Ireland and the Netherlands.  Sandy remarks that “Barcelona, Spain
can easily be identified as an exotic local because of the city’s
Mediterranean climate, flora and sunny beaches.  Although many
may not think of Ireland and Amsterdam as exotic places their
uniqueness is what makes these locales striking.  Ireland is a country
where there are numerous unspoiled landscapes.  In contrast to the lush
scenery of Ireland is the metropolis of Amsterdam where old world charm meets the modern world.”

Sandy Leigh Skipper loves to take photographs of places she travels to for
work as well as photographing her everyday surroundings.  Her favorite
subjects are the nature environment and animals.  Skipper is a Virginia
Railway Express 15th Anniversary photo contest winner.  Her picture of
Quantico Station won best station photograph.  She won honorable mention in
the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts (FCCA) April 2009 Regional
Show for her photo Frozen.  In November of 2009 she won second place in
the FCCA Small Works National Show for Puppy in Motion.  Her photo Sp
irals in the Sunlight, Longest Icicle was awarded honorable mention in the FCCA April 2010 photo by
Sandy Leigh Skipper Regional Show.  Skipper was selected for four national and six regional FCCA shows from August 2008 to May 2010.

Vickey Hluchanek

Vickey contributed watercolor pieces and photographs
centered on trips she took to Malaysia and Paris.  Vickey comments
about Malaysia that “the breathtaking beauty there is unbelievable
with the plants, atmosphere, sunsets and the people.  I hope to share
with others an inspiration from this beauty that gave me the desire
to create my art and photography and hope that it is seen as coming
from the soul.”
