In selecting the works for this exhibition is it very similar to reviewing the portfolios which come into our gallery every week.  My approach is to look at each submission carefully, usually several times and while doing so I pay attention to my reactions and feelings while reviewing the multitude of pieces.  It is at this time that I begin narrowing down my choices.  My selection for this exhibition leans more towards representational content (due to the fact I’m immersed in a representational environment everyday) but I found merit in all media, subject matter and artistic style.

I would like to congratulate and encourage every artist who submitted work for this show.  It is a time-honored way for emerging artists to have their work seen and I recognize the strength and commitment that went into each submission.  I was pleased and honored when FCCA invited me to select this show and I would like to thank Carrol and the gallery for including me as part of this process.
