Awards & Juror's Statement
Traci Horne will be the juror of "For & About Women" the FCCA national juried exhibit for March 2010, which is being held in conjunction with the statewide program "Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts 2010: Minds Wide Open". FCCA is participating by presenting an exhibition of art that is created by a woman/women or features a woman/women as the primary focus. All artists nationwide are invited to submit entries.
Since receiving her Master’s in Art History from VCU in 2003, Traci Horne has been teaching art appreciation, theory, and history throughout the Richmond area. Ms. Horne currently serves as Gallery Coordinator at VCU’s Anderson Gallery, where she recently curated an exhibition as part of the summer show Travelogue. Originally trained in painting and objects conservation, Ms. Horne frequently consults on preservations projects, including the recent renovation of the Virginia capitol building. Ms. Horne’s current research interests include the exploration of the archive and museum practice in modern and contemporary art.
