Connie Canby is currently owner
and director of
WideRiver Gallery in Colonial Beach and Vice President of
Colonial Beach Art Guild. She has attended the Corcoran School of Art and the
Maryland School of Art and Design. She has a long history of teaching
including Nova in Sterling VA., and Loudoun Academy of the Arts in Leesburg.
She has been Artist in Residence for Clarke County ART REACH program and has a
permanent mural in Boyce elementary school. She developed a program for
teaching Alzheimer victims the joy of painting with watercolor and implemented
the program at various adult day care centers around the beltway. She has
additional background in photography.
Connie has juried shows for
Sheperdstown College, AOL headquarters, Loudoun Academy shows, Loudoun Sketch
Club shows, Colonial Beach Art Guild, and Colonial Beach Museum. And
juror of FCCA's February
Regional Art Exhibit '09.
One person shows include George
Washington University, The Brazilian American Cultural institute, Middle
Street Gallery in Little Washington, Eloquent Objects in Martinsburg WVA, and
The Arts Center in Orange VA.
