Meet Our InstructorsCathy Herndon has been an art teacher for 33 years in Stafford County and Fredericksburg City schools. She was honored as Middle School Art Teacher of the Year 2004 and is an award- winning professional artist for the last 27 years in the U.S. and Europe. Darlene Wilkinson has work exhibited in galleries in Canada and Houston. She has had published work in Art Doll Magazine and Somerset Magazine. Her work has been seen on the Carol Duval show. She has had special exhibits at the Houston International Quilt festival for 4 years. Jeanne Tanks is a professional artist with 30 years experience teaching 2-D & 3-D art subjects, including pinhole & traditional black/white photography; intaglio, block, silk-screen, & monotype printmaking; oil, watercolor, & encaustic painting; clay, metal, wax, & glass sculpting; and surface design, specifically in silk. For the last eight years, she has become a leading specialist in the area in kiln-formed glass art. Her artwork has been jurored into numerous shows in VA, AZ, NM, & MI, and many pieces of her artwork are in private collections across the USA. Elizabeth Frownfelter Mark, an artist instructor with 10 years of experience teaching art to children. Carol Iglesias is a member of Art First and Brush Strokes Gallery, as well as the FCCA. She has had numerous exhibits in the area and was recently inducted into the Maryland Pastel Society. Visit her Artist's Profile. Kerry McAleer-Keeler is a printmaker and book artist, who is an adjunct faculty member at the George Washington University (where she received her MFA, along with a BA with concentration in studio art from Mount Holyoke College) and at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and owner of a graphic design firm, with a studio in Liberty Town Studios. Her work has been featured at FCCA and in private and permanent collection of National Museum of Women in the Arts, Corcoran College, and George Washington University. Ed King graduated from Pratt Institute and also attended Virginia Commonwealth University. Ed is an art instructor at Orange Arts Center and Germanna Community College. He is a 10-year member of Art First Gallery, with numerous local exhibits. Visit his Artist's Profile. Kandra Orr is a member of Brush Strokes Gallery and teaches art in public high school. She holds an master's of science in Art Therapy from the College of New Rochelle. Visit her Artist's Profile. Pam Allen is a certified art teacher with 15 years experience, a member of Brush Strokes Gallery and Art First Gallery, and has had multiple local awards and shows. Bill Harris makes a living as an artist in the Fredericksburg area, doing paintings, murals and portraits.
