As a recently reinstated "new" member, after a 25 year hiatus as a serious
painter, this is my first attempt to send you any information concerning my
artwork.
I had three oil paintings accepted at the Louisa Art Center for their
exhibition called Blooming Art. The works are called:
The Flower Gatherer, The Front Porch, and The Lancaster
Meadow. The show has run all of August at the Purcell Gallery in Louisa.
Two paintings, Buttons in his Party Hat and Oh Boy! The Fourth of
July were accepted in the Charlottesville-Albemarle Art Association
juried show. Oh Boy! The Fourth of July received a Judges Award at
the King George Art Show in June and it has received a third place award in
the Charlottesville -Albemarle Art Association exhibition at the Boar's Head
Inn which ends Oct. 3, 08.
I have had two paintings accepted for The Art at the Mill show in Millwood at
the old Clarke County mill, Burwell Mill. That show runs from October
4-October 19, 08
The works are both small oils: Old Tree at Ottoman and
Rixeyville Shed.
I will exhibit with three fellow Fauquier County art teachers in a group of
four that we call The Painting Ladies at Lord Fairfax
Community College, on the Warrenton and Middletown campus sites in the months
of October and November.
My work is always for sale at the Boar's Head Inn Shop in Charlottesville.
I was on vacation when the latest FCCA show opened and was stunned and so
pleased to see that one of my two works accepted for this exhibit won a first
prize....A Humid Sunday. Wow!
I will attempt to send you some images of some of these paintings that you
might use. The one included here is Oh Boy! The Fouth of July.
Thanks,
Nancy Brittle
